Getting Green Off The Grid

I keep meaning to build something like this, for camping and emergencies. I’d add a few things like a fan, a CB, and a few 12v outlets for charging portable devices, plus a solar panel to keep it charged up. Still, a nice start.

This article is aimed at radio broadcasters. But I imagine of radio antennae, pumping out thousands or tens of thousands of watts of energy, can be powered by this, a typical house can be too.

I purchased this radio a few years ago from Cheaper Than Dirt but it appears they’re out of stock. Very convenient, works off of solar power, hand crank, batteries, or AC adapter. It worked well for us during a recent power outage.
