This is a lot like buying an alligator and then suddenly realizing that it’s over 8 feet long and eating your pets. Did they just not take the neighboring trees into consideration when they set up the solar panels? Or did they know about the law and were hoping to cash in on it later?
Sunnyvale Man Sues Neighbor To Cut Redwoods For Solar Energy
After more than six years of legal wrangling, a judge recently ordered Richard Treanor and his wife, Carolyn Bissett, to cut down two of their eight redwoods, citing an obscure state law that protects a homeowner’s right to sunlight.
