Numerous sewer cleanups resulting from grease clogs was the vehicle for the biodiesel effort in Alabama, officials said. Since then, the town has saved $10,000 a year in sewer cleanups and another $10,000 in diesel fuel costs and this year won a Municipal Achievement Award.
