Military proposes wind turbine to power groundwater cleanup
The military cleaning up its own mess with wind power. Makes sense.
The Air Force is proposing construction of a 660-kilowatt wind turbine at the Massachusetts Military Reservation on Cape Cod.
The turbine would power the equipment being used to clean-up groundwater that was contaminated by military operations on the base.
The Air Force says using wind power instead of fossil fuels not only makes environmental sense, but would also save about 170,000 dollars a year in electricity costs.
