4 Michigan inventions are featured in a new book that spotlights amazing homemade gadgets and machinery
I posted this for the solar powered scooter, but all the devices are pretty cool. And they’re all from Michigan.
Dunklee developed a solar-powered scooter with panels that unfold like wings when it’s parked to recharge the batteries. He rode it to work every day from April to October last year. Top speed is about 25 m.p.h.; at 18 m.p.h., it has about a 50-mile range before the batteries need recharging.

I love that scooter, very smart. They do have devices that follow the sun so you do not have to manually adjust them, but that would just add a lot of cost.
